Denise Pelletier, AOE artist member

A native of the Bas St-Laurent, Denise Pelletier now resides in the Outaouais where she teaches visual arts at a High school in Ottawa. Her extensive training ranges from graphic design and photography to art history. In 1994, she founded a summer art school for children which she ran until 1998. Since 1999, Denise has directed summer workshops for adults in the scenic Baie-Saint-Paul in Charlevoix region.

Denise Pelletier has perfected and refined her painting technique through numerous courses at the Ottawa School of Arts. She has also attended many reputable art workshops at the ICSCIS international school in Normandy, Provence and Tuscany. Furthermore, in 1998, she spent several months in Europe where she attended the École des Beaux Arts in Avignon, France.  In 2004, she took time also to work on her art in Cassis, a little town in southern France, as well as in Corsica and Italy in 2008.

Born of the spatula, Denise Pelletier’s art is bold and fresh, a true expression of her creative energy. Her style reflects her unbridled passion for life and all of it’s intricacies, creating images that harmonise movement and light without artifice.

This prolific artist currently exhibits her work at Old Chelsea Gallery in the Outaouais.

Lynne Morin, AOE artist member

Having graduated as an Economist (BA) and a Business Administrator (MA), Lynne Morin has been devoting the last 10 years to developing as an artist.  Her accomplishments have resulted from studying in various educational areas, from University courses to painting and drawing workshops.

She is intrigued by people and their gestures, how they convey themselves to the world.  Her compositions are based on form, colour and texture to create a sensual appearance that draws the audience forward for extended viewing and appreciation.

She is drawn to certain gestures and poses of reflection. Her compositions have evolved  based on experimentation of the use of form, colour and texture while manipulating the cropping of subject matter and its effect.  She is also using more abstraction in her work to create a pleasing mix of representation with the concepts of generalization or vagueness.

It is Lynne's intention to continue her exploration, seeking to create harmonious presentations that convey interpreted yet pensive portrayals, thus integrating the figurative and abstraction.

To date her successes have included publications in the Masters Art Quilts, Portfolio’s 16 and 17, and Beyond Comfort.

She has been accepted in many juried shows such as the International Quilt Festival and Studio Art Quilts Associates shows, as well as having had two solo shows.

Her work is represented by the Tay Gallery and the Ottawa Art Gallery.
